Dinghy excursion to Proratora
The dinghy excursion to Proratora is part of the organized tour with us.
Have you ever seen an island with a cove leading to a cave? This is Proratora Island.
Proratora is an island at the end of the Capo Coda Cavallo peninsula. It is characterized by predominantly red granite rock, which is common in northern Sardinia, from Santa Teresa to Castelsardo, and throughout Gallura.
You enter from the eastern side, where, after about thirty meters, you reach the stunning Grotta del Forno. What makes it special is that it is connected to the top of the island by a natural chimney.
This cove has a setting that immediately invites you to take a memorable photo to share with your friends.
On the sides of the cave, you can spot sea tomatoes, which are washed by the surge of the tide. These are sea anemones, part of the same family as sea anemones. They are stinging but also edible.
Around the island, it is easy to spot the cormorant, a water bird from the Phalacrocoracidae family. It is known for staying submerged for long periods and diving to significant depths while hunting for prey.
The dinghy excursion to Proratora is a recommended destination, whether you rent a dinghy independently, as it is easy to find and reach. It is also the destination for all the skippers who lead dinghy excursions in the Tavolara and Coda Cavallo Marine Area.
